Full Moon above Poolbeg Lighthouse
It was a beautiful crisp spring evening along the Great South Wall in Dublin. I had planned this photograph of the Full Moon rising above Poolbeg Lighthouse for a long time, but on every previous attempt the weather had intervened, with cloud and sea mist obscuring the view.
The Full Moon only rises in the exact position I wanted around once every six months, and the opportunity to capture the shot was very brief as I only had the width of the Great South Wall to work with.
Thankfully, on this March evening in 2017 the forecast was for clear skies. As the sun set behind me, I watched the Full Moon emerge above the horizon and slowly climb into the perfect position above Poolbeg Lighthouse, allowing me to capture this original and iconic Dublin print.
