Christmas Day alone on Grafton Street

I met the couple at the north end of Grafton Street, two really nice people, tourists enjoying the emptiness of the city on Christmas Day.

They we're taking pictures of each other on their mobile phone and I asked if they wanted me to take some pictures of them together, the answer was "Yes, please!". As we strolled up Grafton Street taking in the magic, talking about pictures and how amazing it was to have Grafton Street all to ourselves, completely abandoned.

The couple stopped at the Phil Lynnot statue outside Bruxelles and I went on ahead to get some pictures, as they were coming up towards me I got this shot, I said to them to contact me but there might have been something lost in translation, as I have not heard anything yet...

I don't know where they came from, and I don't know where they went, but I know they enjoyed themselves and I really enjoyed meeting them, and hope to meet them some day again!

This photo of the couple walking along Grafton Street on Christmas Day was featured on JOE.ie and described as "A late contender for picture of the Year", I probably couldn't have taken a picture much later in the year with so much meaning! Christmas Day on Grafton Street is a wonderful and magical place.
