The Grand Canal Dublin - Winter Fog Print

The Grand Canal in Dublin on a wintry December night.

As the water turned to ice, the fog thickened and the barge lay still on the freezing Grand Canal. Air temperature was below -2 but it felt so much colder, a winter night in Dublin can get into your bones.

The fog rising almost obscured Eustace Bridge from view and crystalised the reeds, branches and paths all around but the Baile Atha Cliath of La Peniche still sparkled while reflecting in the water and ice of a Dublin winter night on the canal.
