A Perseid Meteor falling above Glendalough Lake

One of my favourite times of the year is the Perseid Meteor Shower in mid August, I had planned a trip to the darker skies of Glendalough with some friends for viewing and as the time neared it became apparent that apart from the moon rising conditions would be nearly perfect in this beautiful historic Wicklow landmark.

There was no wind, sporadic cloud and the lake at Glendalough was like glass. A perfect night in Wicklow to enjoy the the Perseid Meteors flashing across the sky.
